Gender Disappointment

While most pregnant women may not admit it, it’s quite normal to have a gender preference. But what happens if you find out it’s a boy and you were hoping for a girl or vise versa. Some experts suggest finding out the sex of the baby so that you or your partner will have time to accept the outcome. If you do find out your baby’s gender and feel disappointed, don’t let feelings of guilt get you down.

Often, gender expectations have to due with the pregnant woman’s fears of whether or not she will be able to relate to her baby. For example A woman expecting a baby boy may worry about whether her son will be aggressive enough, or become interested in typical boy games and activities, Remember that whether you’re expecting a boy or girl the important thing is that your baby is healthy and above all else, well loved.
