Baby's First Solid Meal

Starting on solids. Most babies are ready for solid foods when they reach six months old. However, every child is different and it is important to make sure that your baby is ready for solid foods. Giving your baby solid foods too early can deprive her of the nutrients she may still require from breast milk.

Some signs that may indicate your baby is ready for solids include showing interest in what others are eating. He may stop pushing out his tongue when you put a spoon in his mouth for feeding.
