Announcing Your Pregnancy

Finding out you’re pregnant is a very exciting time for women, so it makes sense that they would want to share the news. But when is the best time to tell others about your pregnancy?

Traditionally women waited until the end of the first trimester to make the announcement, since the chances of miscarriage is reduced by this time.

Announcing your pregnancy early means you get lots of advice and support from the start. However, too much advice early on can be overwhelming.

Waiting until later for your announcement means more time to make your own decisions, and if you miscarry you won't have to take back the baby announcement. But it can also mean less support and it may offend certain people if you wait to tell them. Whatever you do, it's your announcement and the choice is yours.
