Children and Bus Safety

Teaching your children about bus safety can help keep them safe as they travel to and from school. When the bus arrives, tell your child to always wait for it to come to a complete stop. As well as to check that all traffic is stopped before stepping off the curb.

Tell your child to stay seated on the bus to prevent falling and keep arms and legs inside the bus at all times. When it is time to get off the bus, make sure they wait until it’s completely stopped before exiting. If they are crossing the street, tell them that they need to do it well in front of the bus and look both ways before crossing.
