Pregnancy and Your Pet

If you’re a pet owner, then you may have noticed your cat or dog acting a bit strange since you got pregnant. Dogs have an amazing sense of smell and because of the variations in hormones and pheromones in pregnant women, your dog will be able to sense that you’re pregnant even before that first pregnancy test.

Just how your dog will react to your pregnancy will vary according to your pet. Some dogs may become more clingy and protective. On the other hand some dogs may react badly to the pregnancy becoming stressed and exhibiting anxiety. If your dog’s behavior becomes particularly troublesome, make an appointment with the vet right away.
