Preventing Pregnancy and STDs: Condoms

Condoms are one of the oldest known forms of birth control, over 3000 years old in fact and are the only form of male birth control available. Condoms are popular because they’re convenient to get and simple to use.

To use a condom, place the tip of the condom at the tip of the erect penis, pinch the top part of the condom (to ensure no air gets in), then unroll the condom until it reaches the base of the penis. Condoms are the only effective form of protection against STD’s and also help prevent pregnancy. However, condoms are not 100% effective against pregnancy so it’s best to use condoms in combination with some other form of birth control.
