What Is Pregnancy Bed Rest?

Pregnancy bed rest involves lying in bed for a period of time during your pregnancy, in order to help ensure the health of both you and your baby. Bed rest is usually prescribed to pregnant women who are experiencing complications.

There are 2 types of bedrest:

Complete Bed Rest: Where you are expected to stay in bed 24 hours a day and are only allowed to get up to go to the bathroom.
Partial Bed Rest: This type of bed rest can require you to spend 4 hours in bed everyday and only get up from bed to cook, shower, or take a quick walk around the house.
