Teen Video on Parenting Style

There are three main styles of parenting as defined by psychology: authoritarian, permissive, and authoritative parenting. While authoritarian parenting focuses on rules and control, permissive parenting focuses on giving the child a sense of freedom. Both of these styles have disadvantages to them, but authoritative parenting, which is a midpoint between the two, incorporates the advantages of both authoritarian and permissive parenting while minimizing the drawbacks.

This is a video on parenting styles through the eyes of teenagers. The home video discusses authoritarian and permissive parenting styles and their disadvantages. The teens understand that parents need to set boundaries which are reinforced with reason and love to help their children to grow up to be responsible adults, and the authoritative style wins out in the end.
