Midwife Shortage

One of the biggest decisions a pregnant women is faced with is choosing who her primary health care provider will be. Traditionally doctors have been delivering babies in a hospital setting but within the last decade or so more and more women are reverting to the ancient practice of Midwifery, involving a midwife.

Midwifes are experts in women's health care including giving prenatal care to expecting mothers. They attend the birth of the infant and provide postpartum care to the mother and baby. We interviewed Carolynn Prior an expert midwife who talks to us all about what Midwifery is and the great benefits a midwife can offer as your primary health care provider.
